Dog days of summer in the clamboat…

Welcome to the dog days of summer.  Although we love the thought of fall it’s still a couple months away and Red is hard at work plying his trade as a waterman.  Many people have asked what is actually done in the “off” season for Redhead Guide Service.  Well as many of you know Red has been on the water his entire life.  His spring and summer are filled with hard days at work on the water.

I had the pleasure to be out on the clam boat with Red last Friday.  It was a great experience and an opportunity to take pause at the amount of physical labor involved  for so many of us to enjoy a plate full of clams.  It was great to spend the day watching and photographing a good friend continuing a tradition that goes far back into my family roots as well.  We also had the chance to tryout our helmet cams.  To say the least we are very excited about the footage we will be capturing in the field with these.  I’m including a few raw video clips below and will be adding a clamming photo gallery soon as well.

Be well all and Thank you very much for your support of Redhead Guide Service.
